Half Bottle: Chateau de Myrat 2010
Brand: Chateau de Myrat
2eme Cru Classé BarsacThe de Pontacs' have produced another stunning wine in 2010. Myrat has been punching above its weight since their spectacular 2003 vintage and this is their finest wine ever produced. It is extraordinarily concentrated with an almost exotic tropical fruit explosion on the palate but with a scintillating freshness derived from its high acidity - a particular characteristic of the best Barsacs this year, due to the high content of chalk in the appellation's soils. Finishes on a full-blown apricot and honey creaminess with a hint of nutmeg. 14% alc. and 150g/l residual sugar . [Drink: 2016-2025] CCNPWonderful wine in 2011 showing tremendous balance between honeyed, peachy intensity and fresh vibrant acidity. In spite of the wine's power it shows considerable elegance. Will drink well early but also reward keeping for 5 to 10 years. Drink 2013 to 2022. JREChâteau de Myrat is on a raised plateau in Barsac. The property has a total area of 30 hectares, of which 8 hectares is a park. The soil is typical of Barsac, with significant deposits of lime and clay. 88% Semillon, 8% Sauvignon and 4% Muscadelle.
