The Grand Cru Bonne-Mares is as exotic as it gets with a quite extraordinary concentration and complexity. Since the 2002 vintage, none of the wines have been filtered. Drink 2011 - 2022.A recent exploratory trip around the Côte de Nuits this Spring turned up this gem of a domaine, situated in the heart of the village of Chambolle. Joël Hudelot’s son-in-law, Dominique le Guen (an ex-French air force engineer) took over the wine-making here about six years’ ago and has lifted the estates reputation in to the first division in the past couple of years. They are strong believers in following an eco-friendly viticultural route and have been very successful in redeveloping the micro-organic structure of the soil.
