Thanks to the extension tube an infusion tube can easily beextended up to 140 cmand the infusion solution can be administered despite an increased distance between the patient and the infusion device. The transparent material offers a maximum of safety, as theoptical control optionensures an optimal flow. A Heidelberg extension can also be used todetermine venous pressure behaviour. In this case, the corresponding vein is punctured with a cannula and this cannula is connected to the extension. This in turn is connected to a pressure transducer.
