From very old vines planted on limestone soils, this 1er Cru has spent a year in barrels. Golden yellow, it reveals a powerful nose of fresh butter, embellished with small white flowers. The mouth, rich and of an imposing volume, is balanced by a right acidity which carries it in length. A bottle to savor now with foie gras. Gilles Mathias has been running this immaculate estate since the mid-1990’s with the continued support of his father, Jean. We first started buying wines from Jean over twenty five years ago and we have seen this estate improve in quality ever since.
