La Côte des Monts Damnés is an extremely steep south and south-west facing slope in Chavignol with a soil of of Kimmeridgian marl (made up of fossilized seashells and clay). It is a unique terroir where some of the very best Sancerre comes from with amazing depth, power, and aging potential. There are only a dozen growers who own parcels of vines in this prime location.
